Ben Gordon, leading scorer for the Chicago Bulls, needs some nutrition information. "I'm a professional athlete. I train anywhere between two and three times a day. … What kind of foods can I add to my diet to help me maintain high energy levels throughout my diet and not crash after I'm finished working out," he says.

Dr. Oz recommends that Ben eat more foods with antioxidants. "What happens to a lot of great athletes is they are creating so much oxidation in their body from working out all the time, especially if you're working out for more than two hours a day—you're doing this for sure—that you don't have the oxidant stores to keep up with that. So you've got to build up those antioxidant stores by taking leafy green vegetables."

Natural weight loss means lowering your daily calorific intake while increasing the amount of calories you burn through exercise; most people choose to ignore this advice. It has been shown that even when overweight people enjoy eating low calorie foods, the majority become bored and end up putting the weight back on because they slip back into previous ways. It is not actually difficult controlling your weight using natural weight loss methods and reasons not to put on extra weight are many although not all revolve around health and beauty.

The problem is that weight gain puts a strain on the body's ability to fight illness and many of today's health issues are primarily affecting overweight individuals. The annoying part is that natural weight maintenance is not difficult to understand but overweight people choose to ignore this.

The correct approach for natural weight loss is to eat the right quantity of foodstuffs such as complex carbohydrates, plus foods high in carbohydrates, some protein and a low fat content.
